Social Studies
Students entering in the 2025-2026 school year and beyond may be required to take Personal Financial Literacy
There's very few social studies courses at Westwood, with 2 clearly defined pathways (remember: don't take on-level and take TAG when possible). Students wishing to take additional history courses can take AP Psychology (which involves a lot of vocabulary and common sense, as some students say) or AP African American Studies.
Non-IB:
- AP Human Geography (Known as HuGS.)
- AP World History (Commonly skipped. Known as WHAP.)
- AP US History (Commonly skipped and sometimes replaced with AP Psychology. Known as APUSH.)
- AP Government and AP Macroeconomics (Both are semester-lo courses and referred to as AP Gov & Econ.)
IB:
- AP Human Geography
- IB-Prep US History (Known as IBUSH)/APUSH
- History I IB
- History II IB
